Life Storms Are Real

They Will Visit You Once And A While …

Somehow In The Midst Of It All Try To Put On A Smile.

Psalm 126:2 

Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”

Laughter Made It Easier

A life-storm visited me and it had an aggressive attitude; surely it was in a really bad mood.    It caught me off guard, I must admit; and I didn’t know how to handle it.    I did my best to stay optimistic and remain upbeat; I really didn’t want this to be a defeat for me.   Some life-storms bring about a challenge that will test your faith in God; sometimes life gets really hard.

I put up a good fight. I threw a blow or two, but with all of that the storm just grew.    My soul began to get weary, “what shall I do before long”; I gave it my greatest effort and the storm grew strong.     I was praying in my heart all of the time, and I was trying to make sure I had on my God-mind.

The life-storm tossed me around, more or less; yet somewhere deep inside,  I knew I was blest.     The life-storm picked me up and was ready to fling me to the ground; surely I had to do something that would turn things around.     In a split second I remembered I’m safe and secure in God’s plan; and that He is holding me inside of His hands.

Suddenly, I got a tickle deep-seated in my soul; a laugher that was in a glorious jolly roll.     I was in an amusing way because I knew God was inside of my day.      Still, I didn’t have a clue of how to handle the matter; and my days remained in a scatter.    However, I realized the storm wasn’t as large as it appeared; and it really wasn’t something that I should have ever feared.

That thought brought laughter to my eyes, and my strength became larger in size.    I got so tickled thinking about winning the fight, and my thoughts and motivation became very bright.   Truly the storm was still hanging around, but it didn’t have such a big sound.     My laughter expanded way down in my soul, and my faith in God began to get bold.

The life- storm threw a terrible hit my way, the kind that would bring setback into my day.     My soul’s laughter got stronger and my thoughts became clear; somehow I knew that my deliverance was near.      Laughter filled my soul and kept me in a sound mind; I knew that the life-storm was running out of time.

The storm blew and had strong wind speed; the storm was determined to stay, yes indeed.     Laughter carried me through the wind’s outburst; if laughter wasn’t present, the storm could have been worst.     I’ve heard that laughter is medicine for the soul, and in this experience laughter played its role.

A life–storm did arrive on the scene; and in spite of the trouble it caused, laughter made my soul gleam.     Laughter made my problems a little easier to tolerate day by day; somehow I feel laughter is one way to pray.     In some way laughter made it easy to give positive responses to negative circumstances; triumphant was near, I had a winning chance.

A giggle would fill my heart when the storm ranted and raved because I knew I was not going to be its slave.     The storm really had a temper; it blew its top, but the laughter in my soul could not stop.    I knew this was a dark moment that must pass very soon, and laughter wiped away sadness and gloom.   Laughter became my friend in this season for a while; I was inside of a place like a bubbly child.

This may sound funny and crazy to hear, but laughter made the storm’s rage not seem as severe.     The storm did leave some rubble in my space, but it did not stop me from giving God praise.      Laughter is powerful. It’s a healing balm; I’ve witnessed the way it helped me remain calm.      I thank God for the gift of laughter that brings joy to my soul; thank you Lord for making laughter –  a bundle of cheer to behold.

Lord you thought of everything to make my spirit bright, and I am so grateful for your insight.      Perhaps God gave us laughter to erase hours of distress; maybe laughter is one way for us to move forward and progress.      Perhaps laughter is a way for our soul to talk in God’s ear; maybe it’s one way of God saying, “I’m always near”.

God told us, “in His presence there is fullness of joy” all the time; I believe laughter is one way to keep a happy heart and mind.      I’ve found that laughter is a weapon against some of life’s warfare; sometimes laughter is the only weapon that you have to wear.
